Christmas is Almost Here!

We are preparing to head to Missouri for Christmas with my family. I'm getting very excited to be there, but looking forward to the trip itself? Not so much. It's a long drive and the weatherman's calling for snow/ice. Although I'd love an opportunity to play in the snow and go sledding for an afternoon, I'm sure the fun would wear off quickly when I become cold, or if the roads become treacherous enroute, etc. If only the snow would last only as long as we'd like it to! Funny how nature doesn't quite work out that way isn't it? I think I'll pack my snowboots just in case! But I'm pretty sure I threw out the long johns when I moved to Texas! Go figure! I may wish I still had them when I get there. It's been so warm here in South Texas and it's going to be SO COLD there!

I may or may not be able to post to the blog while I'm there. My family members have internet access but as far as I know they all have dial up! I can't imagine how long it would take me to upload my pictures to flickr with dial up! I may find out soon enough....so if you don't hear from me until I return to Texas you'll know why! I've already got so many ideas for blog posts from there swimming in my head! I think for one I'll take you on a tour of my hometown, show you around a bit. Of course another will be the Bravo! reunion my friend Suzanne is planning for us dance moms and our daughters, the dancers. I'm looking forward to that...and the pizza we'll be eating. Sorry, Texans just don't know how to make good pizza. But, you sure can't get good shrimp in the Ozarks so Texas scores better with that.

If the weather prevents our trip, I don't know who will be most disappointed....me or my sister Lacey! Lacey emails daily and is so excited about seeing us.

Since we are going to be gone for Christmas, my mother in law and father in law (Billie and Freddie) took us and some friends from church (Bill and Denise) to lunch after church Sunday. We enjoyed a nice lunch and while we were there they gave us presents to open!

Heather begins tearing into her package.

There's a note enclosed she has to read.

She doesn't look at all excited about the contents does she?

Thanks Granny!

Marty with his gift.

My turn!

Thanks Granny and Pappy Freddie for the great presents! Merry Christmas to you and see you in just over a week!

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Marie ...tell Bobby I still remember all the Christmases when we were little and he always brought us McDonald's Gift Certificates! What a treat that was for us and how we loved it when he brought them!
