Erica and I went to the mall for some Christmas shopping. We got away with no kiddos and no hubbies. We didn't manage to make much of a dent in our lists, but we did have a great time. And, we even decided to be goofy ('cause that's just what we do!) and have our picture taken with Santa. Unfortunately we decided too late to do so for he was gone for the day when we got back down to where he was seated. My sister Lacey is a regular reader of both our blogs and we knew she'd get a huge kick out of seeing a picture of us with Santa on our posts! Oh well, Lacey, we tried.
After we closed down the mall, we decided we'd better head for home. On the way, we took a detour to the neighborhood where Erica grew up to see some Christmas lights. They were awesome and I'm glad we took the time to check them out. She showed me where she and her friends used to hang out, and shared with me how when she was a kid during the month of December each year, her family would take a route home that would go past this Christmas lights display as often as possible.
Thanks Erica for a great evening! Sorry we didn't make a bigger dent in our shopping lists! And, thanks for sharing these spectacular lights with me and taking me on a trip down memory lane!
Isn't it awesome how something as simple as looking at some Christmas lights can take you back to relive memories from your childhood? I sure love the mild Texas winters, but when I'm looking at Christmas lights I have to admit that then I miss the snow. There is nothing like looking at Christmas lights relfected in the snow and all the outside decorations surrounded in white.
