Lady in Pink

Last weekend hubby and I attended the 2011 Texas Sandfest in Port Aransas. I took many photos of the sand sculpting and of them all the photos I took of this woman stood out.

That bright pink against all the blue really shines:

Spring Flower

Recently I had the privelege of photographing this little cutie. Isn't she the cutest flower among the bluebonnets?!

Birdwatching in Port A

When hubby and I woke early on Sunday morning to watch the sunrise at the beach, we took a walk on the jetty. A  crane flew in and landed near us, swooped into the water and came back with a fish. After several minutes of chewing he was finally able to eat his fish and then he seemed to pose for photos for me for as long as I kept snapping. So, naturally, I obliged!

I ♥ Faces: Wind

It's been a long time since I've participated in one of the I ♥ Faces Challenges. This week's challenge is "Wind." When I saw that I immediately remembered a recent family reunion photo shoot in which we battled a LOT of wind while taking outdoor photos. One such photo is of these 2 soon-to-be step sisters in Alaska. What beautiful girls, even with the wind blowing their hair in their faces!!!

Sunrise in Port A

This weekend my husband and I went away to the beach for the weekend to relax and to enjoy Sandfest at Port Aransas. We woke early both days in an attempt to watch the sunrise on the beach. Day 1 was VERY windy and cloudy so great pictures were not meant to be:

Day 2 was also cloudy and a bit windy but not as bad as the previous day. Neither day had spectacular colorful skies as I'd hoped but I enjoyed photographing anyway:

Keep checking back. Photos of sandfest coming soon!

A Study in Green

As I was trying to talk on the phone my husband interrupted to tell me I really needed to come outside and to bring my camera. To take photos. Of a frog. Yes, a frog. I am sure if you know me well you know how quickly I jumped on that, or not. A frog? Ok, ok I'm coming....

Ok maybe he's not so bad. But I'm still not holding him. And he'd better not jump on me.

Ok, maybe I'll even get closer...

"Wait, wait, wait. That's not my good side"

See I knew I didn't like frogs...

"Could you at least wait until I've had a bath???? I'm awfully dirty! I even appear to have cobwebs stuck to me!"

"Oh goodness! Not THAT close, the WRINKLES will show!"

"Seriously, after your husband scares me off the stump and I'm even DIRTIER and still you're here with your camera? Oh the humanity!"

"Look, I even now have trash on my face."

"Leave me with a shred of dignity and be off with you now!"
