Merry Christmas! (Christmas Morning)

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas day! We sure did!

Christmas morning found me to be the first one awake and waiting for Marty and Heather to get up so we could all open presents! Both were sure I'd be the last one up but Marty, who is usually up before the rest, was the last. It's funny how Christmas morning begins later and later as Heather gets older! I can remember well all the Christmas mornings lying in bed and hearing tiny feet hit the floor and run into the living room to see what Santa left...soon to be followed by squeals of deligt as she'd run to our room and show us her goodies. She doesn't wake us up anymore but she still gets up very early to see what Santa left and goes back to bed until the rest of us get up.

See, here's proof that I did finally get all the gifts wrapped and put under the tree!

We all take turns opening gifts and Heather usually opens the first wrapped gift every year.

Heather is loving having a job and her own money. I think she really enjoyed choosing Christmas gifts for family this year! I love the blouse she chose for me and the gift certificate for tanning as well! She was so excited to go with me to the motorcycle shop so she could get Marty stuff for the bike!

I was on the lookout for a nice leather jacket for Marty for going out or going to church. The one he wears riding just doesn't work well for anything else! I found the perfect one at the outlet mall and it's the softest leather I have ever felt. His Mom paid half so this gift is from both of us.

I think I can safely say from the look on Heather's face that she loves the "skinny jeans" I found for her! I love that she had this look on her face ALL day long and it was obvious to all she was in a great mood all day!

Marty got gadgets for his computer! I got him a racing game, a wireless mouse, an mp3 player and a flash drive. Funny thing is, we all 3 got new flash drives from each other this year!

Apparently I got a little carried away with the tape....

It is so awesome to have a hubby so supportive of my hobby! I got a newer version of my camera....so Heather got my old one!

Christmas is Almost Here!

We are preparing to head to Missouri for Christmas with my family. I'm getting very excited to be there, but looking forward to the trip itself? Not so much. It's a long drive and the weatherman's calling for snow/ice. Although I'd love an opportunity to play in the snow and go sledding for an afternoon, I'm sure the fun would wear off quickly when I become cold, or if the roads become treacherous enroute, etc. If only the snow would last only as long as we'd like it to! Funny how nature doesn't quite work out that way isn't it? I think I'll pack my snowboots just in case! But I'm pretty sure I threw out the long johns when I moved to Texas! Go figure! I may wish I still had them when I get there. It's been so warm here in South Texas and it's going to be SO COLD there!

I may or may not be able to post to the blog while I'm there. My family members have internet access but as far as I know they all have dial up! I can't imagine how long it would take me to upload my pictures to flickr with dial up! I may find out soon enough....so if you don't hear from me until I return to Texas you'll know why! I've already got so many ideas for blog posts from there swimming in my head! I think for one I'll take you on a tour of my hometown, show you around a bit. Of course another will be the Bravo! reunion my friend Suzanne is planning for us dance moms and our daughters, the dancers. I'm looking forward to that...and the pizza we'll be eating. Sorry, Texans just don't know how to make good pizza. But, you sure can't get good shrimp in the Ozarks so Texas scores better with that.

If the weather prevents our trip, I don't know who will be most disappointed....me or my sister Lacey! Lacey emails daily and is so excited about seeing us.

Since we are going to be gone for Christmas, my mother in law and father in law (Billie and Freddie) took us and some friends from church (Bill and Denise) to lunch after church Sunday. We enjoyed a nice lunch and while we were there they gave us presents to open!

Heather begins tearing into her package.

There's a note enclosed she has to read.

She doesn't look at all excited about the contents does she?

Thanks Granny!

Marty with his gift.

My turn!

Thanks Granny and Pappy Freddie for the great presents! Merry Christmas to you and see you in just over a week!

Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
