Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Everyone!

Blessings of 2007:

This spring my cousin Jay lost his home and daughter in a tornado that ripped through the community where I used to live in Missouri. Jay and his wife and 2 sons were injured, Jay having spent many weeks in the hospital. He now still suffers from some brain damage but has been able to return to work full time.

This photo was taken by my mom last year at a Thanksgiving program at school, of Jay with his daughter Elizabeth.

My brother Levi, whom I posted about here, has recently been released from prison drug rehab and is back home and working full time. Continue to pray for him as he battles his addiction.

This photo was taken the day Mom and Regina drove to pick Levi up after rehab. It is of Levi (left) and my nephew Brandon (right).

I am thankful for friends, old and new.

This year Erica and I have spent so much time together. We've been friends for several years but have only this year become as close as we are now. I am so thankful for your friendship, Erica. Thank you for being there for me through so much and for just being someone I can be me with!

My family, despite my physical distance from them, remain very close to me. I think we take it for granted sometimes how very blessed we are. I recently got to spend a day with my brother Davy when he came to Texas. What a rare day for us to have together and I am so thankful for the time we shared. I treasure my relationship with my sisters. Not all sisters have what we share. We are so different from one another, yet nothing shakes the bond that will always be there. Regina and Lacey, I love you both and will miss spending this day with you and everyone else! Mama, I will miss you most of all today (and not just for the yummy things you'll be cooking!) I will see you all at Christmas and am so looking forward to the time we'll spend together then! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

I'm thankful it looks like I'll see my Grandpa again. Doctors haven't given him long to live and we weren't sure he'd still be around when we go to Missouri for Christmas, but he's still kickin'!

I'm thankful for Marty, for his patience and that he works so hard for us. We met almost 18 years ago and have been together since. Thank you, Marty, for the time you take to make me feel special.

Heather, you're 16 and it's been a rough year off and on. I'm thankful for the special moments we have shared throughout this year and look forward to what the next year brings us. You're growing into such a beautiful young lady and the time you have left with me seems so short!
