Heather

Heather volunteered to spend a week at camp as a "Team Servant." Team Servants are teamed with college-age mentors, and join together daily to study God's Word and learn how to apply Biblical principles of servanthood to their lives in order to become better leaders. Students accepted into this program are also given opportunities to serve in many ways, such as working in the dining hall, cleaning hotel rooms and restrooms, doing maintenance and general work for camp upkeep. Heather learned of this program last year when a few other youth from our church attended, and she's been asking me ever since if she could do the same when she's old enough. She's finally old enough so she applied and was accepted.

Her room mates for the week are college age girls who serve throughout the summer as part of the Summer Missions Team. They were off for the day when we arrived, but left a welcome note for her on the door:

When we arrived at camp we were a little early so after checking Heather in we wondered down to the prayer garden to look around and took these pictures. Because of all the rain we've had, the lake's flooded and unless the water recedes a lot, she won't get to do any water recreation this week.

Have a great week, Heather! We're proud of you!

I'm proud of you, too, Heather! I hope you have a WONDERFUL trip. You'll have to share it with the whole youth group when you get back. Maybe more will want to participate with you next year. =0)
