A Family Affair

Because Mother's Day is tomorrow I am posting pictures of my daughter. And also because my uncle Bobby requested more pictures of "his girls." The scripture at the bottom is a recommendation from my favorite aunt. She sent it asking if I had any pictures to go with it. I think these will do, don't you?

Although the last several years have been more trying as a mom, I've been blessed with a wonderful daughter. She's a teenager so what parents can say they haven't had some trying times during those years? I'm so proud to be the one this little girl (yes, I still call her my little girl) calls Mom.

Of course, when she was a baby learning to talk she said "Daddy" first. Then, it became a game to her when we'd try to get her to say "Mommy." She'd giggle and say "Daddy" every time. Daddy sometimes worked late and although she'd go to bed with no fuss, she'd lie awake waiting for him to come home and tuck her in. She always woke early and in a very playful mood. We often started our mornings with "peek a boo" between the crib rails.

She's already accomplished so much and made me so proud: all her awards, trophies, and trips for dance; her ability to play a musical instrument; etc. My proudest moment is the day she accepted Christ as her savior. She was baptised on Mother's Day, 2002.

Once upon a time she loved to wear frilly dresses and couldn't stand to get dirty. As she grew older she didn't care for dresses anymore and she was very likely to get dirt all over her just going from the house to the car. I always (and sometimes still do) kept baby wipes in the car for such instances.

When did my sweet baby go from this.....

To this? And how did it happen so fast???

"The Lord who created you says...I have called you by name; you are mine."

I cannot believe she has grown so fast. Such a beautiful woman, inside and out. Such a testament to your parenting.
