Meet "Missy." She's a pug/beagle mix (my mom calls her a "puggle"). I've never been an "animal person." I've tolerated them because my husband and daughter love them so much and I'll even enjoy them from time to time. But only when I feel like it, otherwise don't bother me. Until now. We recently drove to Missouri to spend time with my family. During the visit, my mom's puppy decided she belonged to my daughter and didn't leave her side any time we were at Mom's. So with our permission, Mom gave her 3 month old puppy to my daughter. She did wonderful during the 13+ hour drive back to Texas and didn't make one mess in my car, endearing herself to me a little. In the month we've had her, I've become very attached to her (something I thought couldn't happen!) and I wouldn't trade her for anything. I've even gone so far as to take her for a car ride last week. She was my new best friend for several days after that, choosing to sit with me rather than her normal spot next to my husband as we watched tv.
Missy meets
"Meatloaf", my husband's bulldog/boxer. Meatloaf is muzzled for the meeting just in case he decides to play too rough.
"God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1

Your puggle looks very much like the one I met at the family reunion. That one stole my heart!
