More Vintage Cars

I think I am almost through bombarding you with vintage car posts. I've spent way too much time playing with these photos....as atested by the last one here!

Some photos got cropped, etc., in photoshop. Others I spent more time on just to play around. This is one of them. I removed the other cars from around it, and changed the scenery in front of the car.

Then I tweaked the colors to make it appear to be an old photograph.

And this photo just shows I was wasting time and can you tell I'm wishing for a trip to the beach???

Vintage Trucks

Recently I posted some closeups of emblems of vintage cars I took on a recent trek to a local salvage yard with my friend Nancy. Here are a few photos of some of the old trucks...and keep watching if you like this sort of thing because I'm not through yet and there are more photos to come.

This photo venture turned out like many of mine do...with my feet covered in fire ant bites. You'd think I'd learn not to wear my flip flops on occasions such as these, but nope....I seem to ALWAYS be out and about in flip flops. Now it's not just Marty sighing and shaking his head at me and telling me I'm going to get on a snake or in fire ants or in the stickers...Nancy has chimed in as well. Each time she suggests another photo taking venture she reminds me that I really need to wear my tennis shoes. Maybe next time, Nancy!

Visit to the Salvage Yard

My friend Nancy had an interesting idea for a photo op tonight. She suggested we head out to an auto salvage company for photos just before sunset. I was game so I met her there.

To be honest, photographing an auto salvage never occured to me. I grew up with a salvage yard as my playground across the field at my uncle's house. While I do like photos of old cars, I never have gone to a salvage yard in search of such photos. I do like Nancy's idea and we did get some neat shots. I am anxious to see how differently we each saw photo ops before us. I'm always amazed when multiple photographers converge upon the same destination and come away with distinctively different shots!

For the first in this series I'm only posting the emblems I photographed and you'll have to check back to see what else I got. For some of you this will be an enjoyable trip down memory lane.

Hanging Out in the Back Yard

After heavy rains today, when I came home from work the hummingbirds were buzzing all over the back deck. I grabbed my camera and snapped away. I'm still trying to capture that perfect shot, but in the mean time am enjoying the practice and playing with the camera's settings. When the rain started coming down again the birds left, but just before dark the rain stopped and they returned again. The light was gone, but I made the most of what I could capture.

After Prom Pictures in the Park

Heather requested that I take photos of she and Hunter after the Prom in front of the fountain in Central Park. It was starting to rain so I got in a hurry and didn't take the time to get the shots carefully, but here they are!
