Flyin' high, high, I'm a bird in the sky...

Sorry, this photo just screams an old Abba song, don't ya think??? You know the one, the one whose chorus says:

"And I dream I'm an eagle

And I dream I can spread my wings
Flyin' high, high, I'm a bird in the sky
I'm an eagle that rides on the breeze
High, high, what a feeling to fly
Over mountains and forests and seas
And to go anywhere that I please"

Ok, now that I have Abba tunes stuck in your head (please don't throw rocks at me..I happen to LIKE Abba), on to the photos!

My mom shares with me a love of photography. She and her cousin JoAn can often be found scouring the countrysides of Missouri and Arkansas searching for photo ops. One such adventure found them near a meadow where an eagle keeps her nest. The have refused to share the location of this eagle with anyone. But when I was in MO for Easter weekend, my mom shared the location with me and took me there for eagle photos of my own. That was so cool! I found myself in the middle of a field, way out in what I call the boonies, watching an eagle on her nest. I stood there in one of the most peaceful places and listened to water running nearby as I snapped photo after photo, trying to capture a great shot of the eagles, yes plural, flying nearby. I so wanted to get closer and get better shots. But I stayed my distance and captured what I could. However the photos turned out, I cherish the memory of my outing with my mom. It was just she and me, cameras in hand, enjoying our favorite hobby together. What a morning that was for me!

Enjoy browsing the photos while I go scrounge up my Abba cd's. For some reason I'm in the mood to give a listen....and as always to see the rest of the photos click on any of these to be taken to the gallery where they all are stored.

...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Photos By....Janice!!!

When I arrived home today, it was to a Valentine card in the mail from Nana (along with the cutest flip flop sticky notes pad!) and a package from Mom containing 3 cd's of pictures she's taken. Do I feel loved today!!!! Everyone loves mail that isn't bills, advertisements or credit offers, especially when it's personal mail from a loved one!!!

I still have no new pictures to post, so enjoy some of the pictures Mom has been out taking! The views she's enjoying are sure making me jealous!!! Of course the gorgeous weather we're having (80+ degrees today!) might be making her a tadd green also.

More Pictures from Mom

THANKS MOM!!! I've been waiting since THURSDAY for my mom or my sister Regina to send pictures of the big snow they got back in Missouri to post for them. Regina said hers didn't turn out well but she'd send some anyway...but I'm STILL waiting! Mom just sent these and they are awesome!!! They all have dial-up so I know it must have taken FOREVER to send. Thanks for taking the time Mom! I know it's a pain! :0)

My hometown of West Plains, Missouri got hit with a big snow storm this week, closing schools before the snow even began to fall. Mom took the following pictures of the snow storm and some of some eagles she sees almost every day now. I recently posted an awesome eagle photo Mom took here. The pictures she sent managed to make me miss playing in the snow, even though I've done nothing but complain about winter/cold weather lately!

This is Mom's driveway, the hill where we always went sledding! What fun we had and how we froze sledding for hours before racing home to warm by the fire! We'd drape our wet gloves and socks all around the stove wishing they'd hurry and dry so we could go back out! One winter we used sheets of plastic as our sleds and those made the funnest sleds ever! Dad didn't ever let us do that again because the hillside became so slick he couldn't get out, even in a 4 wheel drive!

The creek on Mom's property where we used to play. It doesn't always have water in it, and Mom said there were only a few spots with water in it now.

I'm still so jealous that Mom has this view to look at almost daily!!!! Wow!

Great photos Mom!
Wish I was there to walk in the snow with you again!
Love you bunches!!!

I Am Sooooo Jealous!

My mom's been watching several areas near her home in Missouri where she's spotted eagles. She's taken several photographs, but I haven't seen any as good or as close up as this one she emailed me tonight. It's amazing! I wish I'd seen one this close when we were there. This picture is beautiful, Mom!!!

(Hope all my family in Missouri and all my readers in MO and surrounding areas stay safe during tonight's storms and tornadoes!)
